Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Lead System Engineer specializing in propulsion systems to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the development and integration of next-generation propulsion systems for electrified vehicles, working through all stages from design to validation. The successful candidate will collaborate with various technical teams to ensure the seamless integration of complex hardware and software components within vehicle architecture.
Responsibilities
- Define and cascade system-level requirements to sub-system and component teams.
- Develop system logical and physical architectures along with operating logic and integration plans.
- Conduct system functional analysis to establish performance and functionality expectations.
- Evaluate and harmonise multiple system design concepts to maintain architectural integrity.
- Lead the development and execution of system integration tests for verification and validation.
- Facilitate cross-functional technical reviews to balance stakeholder inputs.
- Provide technical support for hardware/software integration and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with CAE and validation teams to create and implement robust Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
Requirements
- Experience in automotive electrified powertrain systems engineering.
- Strong background in system definition, architecture, integration, and validation.
- Proficient in interpreting customer requirements into system specifications.
- Effective communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Desirable experience with systems engineering principles and structured problem-solving.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and relevant tools such as JIRA.
