Overview
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12-month contract position focused on enhancing organizational objectives in machine technology and process optimization. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to implement effective machining strategies and maintain program timelines in a precision engineering environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level knowledge in machining technologies, including CNC programming and tooling.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to define machining strategies.
- Review and approve technical documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for machining issues.
- Support the development of new machining technologies and process improvements.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance team member skills in machining techniques.
- Validate machining processes through testing and user acceptance evaluations.
- Serve as a technical advisor during audits and project planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a precision engineering environment.
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities.
- Knowledge of various component manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with aerospace QMS/quality requirements (AS9100, OSHAS, TS 16949).
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and process capability metrics.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools and corrective action processes.
- Ability to implement training programs in advanced machining techniques.
