Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for a 6-month contract role focused on supporting production readiness and process optimisation within a fast-paced advanced manufacturing environment. The position involves collaboration with multiple engineering teams to enhance quality and efficiency. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in high-performance engineering sectors, contributing to tooling development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and optimise manufacturing processes to improve quality and efficiency.
- Design and develop production tooling, fixtures and assembly aids.
- Drive process improvement initiatives across assembly and production activities.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) and transition from development into production.
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks and waste.
- Collaborate with Design, Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to enhance manufacturability.
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in design reviews and support production layout planning.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a high-performance or advanced engineering environment.
- Strong background in process improvement and production optimisation.
- Experience in designing production tooling, fixtures, and assembly aids.
- Knowledgeable in supporting new product introduction and production ramp-up activities.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes and production engineering.
- Proficient in using CATIA V5/V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE environments.
- Ability to analyse manufacturing challenges and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
