Job Title: MHEV System Requirements Engineer – Powerpack Engineering Location: Warwickshire Employment type: Permanent/Outside IR35 We are seeking an MHEV System Requirements Engineer (Powerpack Engineering) to join our client’s team and drive the definition, implementation, and validation of system-level requirements for MHEV powerpacks. The successful candidate will ensure that system architectures and integration strategies meet performance, quality, and cost targets while supporting cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle. Responsibilities: Define and cascade system-level requirements to sub-system/component teams, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and attribute targets. Develop system logical and physical architectures, operating logic, and integration plans. Conduct system functional analysis to define expected performance and functionality. Evaluate and harmonise multiple system design concepts to ensure architectural integrity. Support the development and execution of system integration tests for verification and validation. Lead cross-functional technical reviews, balancing stakeholder inputs to deliver optimal customer outcomes. Provide hands-on technical support for hardware/software integration and issue resolution. Collaborate with CAE and validation teams to develop and execute robust DVPs (Design Verification Plans). Ensure all deviations are documented and managed at the vehicle programme level. Capture and share lessons learned to inform future projects. Essential: Engineering knowledge of MHEV Propulsion systems/ integration Detailed knowledge of Hybrid & Electric Vehicle propulsion systems. A working knowledge of electrical Engineering and battery technology including system interactions. Powertrain System & Technical issue management experience Strong background in system definition, architecture, integration, and validation. Proficient in analysing customer requirements and translating them into system specifications. Experience of working in Engineering facilities, rig environments and vehicle testing User of diagnostic/Data analysis tools; INCA/Canalyzer/Corvus/Matlab/picoscope/MDA Experienced in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach, using Six sigma or similar processes Ability to build and manage multiple internal and external relationships working collaboratively across commodities, domains and functions A full UK Driving Licence Desirable: Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience with JIRA Personal Profile An effective team player, actively develops and supports team members A clear communicator to ensure they can be effective within the team. Well organised, highly driven, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision A positive, proactive and flexible attitude to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities, to meet deadlines Flexibility to work at different sites as per programme requirements.
