Overview
The Network Architect will lead the technical discovery and analysis of large-scale public IPv4 environments within a financial services context. This role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to provide strategic recommendations that optimize resource utilization, mitigate risks, and enhance future state network governance.
Responsibilities
- Discover and analyse large-scale public IPv4 estates across IPAM, DNS, CMDB, cloud, firewall and routing platforms.
- Validate address ownership using RIR/RDAP data and identify registry inconsistencies.
- Perform utilisation and optimisation assessments to identify unused, unknown, and high-risk address space.
- Analyse BGP routing, origin ASNs, RPKI, ROAs and IRR data to assess routing posture and security.
- Develop remediation strategies covering consolidation, reclamation, transfer, and governance improvements.
- Contribute to IPAM policy, lifecycle standards, and Target Operating Models.
- Present findings and recommendations to technical teams and executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 addressing and enterprise-scale IP management.
- Strong experience with BGP, routing architecture, and internet routing security.
- Knowledge of RPKI, ROAs, IRR, and routing best practices.
- Experience with IPAM, DNS, CMDB, cloud networking, NAT, and firewall platforms.
- Ability to analyse incomplete data and produce evidence-based recommendations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and consulting skills.
- Desirable experience includes IPv4 transfer, leasing or monetisation, and IPAM governance and operating model design.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP or equivalent are a plus.
