Overview
We are seeking a Network Field Engineer (LAN) for an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for extension. The engineer will collaborate closely with IT colleagues and operational teams across multiple sites in Scotland, primarily focusing on the maintenance and documentation of network infrastructure components.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of switch replacements, power hardware, and cabling across the organization.
- Document deployed infrastructure and ensure devices are added to operational management systems.
- Prepare snagging lists for third parties related to power delivery, cabling, and racking.
- Coordinate with IT colleagues and contractors on-site as needed, including possible night and weekend work.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with Cisco Switches for layer 2 and 3 workloads.
- Knowledge of cabinet power delivery systems including UPS, PDU, ATS, and bypasses.
- Familiarity with best practices for testing cabling and equipment in server environments.
- Proficient in identifying network equipment in busy communication rooms and cabinets.
