Overview

The Oracle Solution Architect serves as the Lead Architect for the Oracle ERP Managed Service in the UK Public Sector, focusing on the design and implementation of solutions that align with client business needs and adhere to contractual and security standards. This role collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including the client Design Authority and third-party software vendors, ensuring that all architectural designs integrate effectively with existing systems. In addition, the Solution Architect plays a key role in modernizing the development lifecycle, transitioning from Waterfall to Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design for VE3-led changes and solutions, ensuring they meet client requirements.
  • Assemble and direct design teams for complex projects, coordinating input from Business Analysts and Project Managers.
  • Author and present System Change Requests to Design Authority for approval on significant design proposals.
  • Conduct impact assessments for approved System Change Requests, maintaining contractual Service Level standards.
  • Ensure designs comply with UK Government security standards and the client's architecture guidelines.
  • Document and present architectural designs in structured reviews, implementing any feedback for solution acceptance.
  • Embed security controls into all designs, ensuring compliance with data residency and encryption requirements.
  • Mentor internal teams and lead engagement with Oracle as the strategic software vendor.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on Oracle architecture experience, with 3 years as a Lead Architect on Oracle Fusion programs.
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle Fusion SaaS applications, including HCM, ERP, and security models.
  • Proven expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure PaaS and IaaS with experience in networking and resource management.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement custom integrations between Oracle SaaS and external systems.
  • Strong understanding of UK Government 'Secure by Design' principles and Cyber Assessment Framework controls.
  • Proficient in various delivery methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile, and Adaptive.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for formal Design Authority presentations.
  • SC clearance and UK Nationality are required; candidates must be eligible for DV sponsorship.
