The Payments Programme Manager will lead the Payments Portfolio within a hybrid role at a UK Digital Bank, overseeing key projects and programmes focused on modernising payment solutions including Debit Card Modernisation and Digital Channel integration. This role involves managing a team of Project Managers, ensuring strategic direction, and engaging with stakeholders and vendors to drive successful project delivery in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of the Payments Portfolio by overseeing multiple projects and programmes.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure alignment with strategic goals and technical requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders and vendors to facilitate smooth integration and communication throughout projects.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any risks or issues that arise.
  • Implement best practices in programme management to enhance delivery efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the project management team as needed.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in payment systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards in all projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Programme Manager within the banking sector, preferably with a challenger bank or Fintech.
  • Extensive knowledge of end-to-end payment processes and technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing project teams effectively.
  • Expertise in stakeholder management and vendor engagement.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in financial services is a plus.
  • Technical delivery experience in a programme or project environment.
