Overview
The Platform Architect will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of a large-scale cloud-native platform within a major enterprise cloud transformation program. Collaborating closely with architecture, engineering, and infrastructure teams, this position aims to enhance the platform landscape by providing expertise in container technologies and automation. The role involves direct engagement with stakeholders and aims to support the overarching goals of enterprise-level workload management.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-scale cloud-native platforms.
- Define platform architecture and technical standards.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and engineering teams.
- Support the adoption of container and Kubernetes-based technologies.
- Advise on automation, Infrastructure as Code, and platform engineering best practices.
- Engage directly with stakeholders and technical leadership teams.
- Contribute to the delivery of a major multi-year transformation programme.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and container platforms.
- Expertise in Red Hat OpenShift and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure or Hybrid Cloud).
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).
- Knowledge of enterprise networking and software-defined networking.
- Experience with VMware and private cloud environments.
- Background in platform architecture, infrastructure architecture, or cloud architecture.
- Strong understanding of platform engineering best practices.
