Overview
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer for an initial 3-month contract focused on a significant Retail Transformation Programme. The contractor will work alongside cross-functional teams in the retail, omnichannel, and finance areas, focusing on delivering high-quality enterprise reporting solutions integral to the organisation's business as usual (BAU) operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Translate business requirements into scalable reporting and data modeling solutions.
- Develop robust semantic models using star schema principles.
- Build complex DAX measures, KPIs and Power Query transformations.
- Integrate Power BI with SQL Server, Azure, Databricks, APIs, SharePoint, and other enterprise data sources.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and uphold data governance best practices.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting solutions.
- Support the transition of transformation deliverables into a sustainable BAU reporting environment.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop & Service).
- Advanced skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL (T-SQL preferred).
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and star schema design.
- Experience developing high-performance enterprise reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Desirable experience with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Synapse or Azure SQL, and Microsoft Fabric exposure.
