Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Principal Designer to join a dynamic team dedicated to developing a large-scale digital platform. The successful candidate will define the visual identity and interaction standards of a greenfield product ecosystem while collaborating closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams. This role focuses on creating high-quality interfaces and establishing a scalable design system to enhance user experiences across various digital products.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the visual design language and interaction patterns across a suite of digital products.
- Produce high-fidelity UI designs, prototypes, and detailed design specifications ready for engineering implementation.
- Lead the creation and ongoing development of a scalable design system, including components, patterns, tokens, and documentation.
- Drive consistency, accessibility, and design quality across all user-facing experiences.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and a high standard of visual execution.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into simple, intuitive, and engaging interfaces.
- Establish best practices for UI design, interaction design, and design system governance across the organisation.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Product Designer, UI Designer, Interaction Designer, or Design Systems Designer delivering complex digital products.
- A portfolio demonstrating exceptional UI design, interaction design, visual design craft, and design systems expertise.
- Proven experience creating and scaling design systems, component libraries, and reusable design patterns.
- Advanced proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and front-end implementation considerations.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams throughout delivery and implementation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence design decisions across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
