Overview
We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer Contractor for a 12-month engagement, focusing on providing engineering expertise for project work scopes within the energy sector. The contractor will collaborate with various teams to offer technical input on modifications, equipment specifications, and project progress, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols. This position involves both onshore and offshore site surveys, alongside participation in design reviews and the oversight of engineering documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes.
- Contribute to progress and planning meetings.
- Specify modifications for existing equipment or new purchases related to HV/LV systems.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
- Produce relevant calculations and participate in design reviews.
- Approve discipline documentation and conduct interdisciplinary checks.
- Deliver documentation including system philosophy and equipment specifications.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of HV/LV electrical systems and power generation.
- Experience conducting site surveys and producing engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and safety protocols.
- Technical expertise in electrical design, equipment specifications, and modifications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of project management principles is a plus.
