Overview
The Principal Instrument Engineer will oversee engineering activities focused on providing technical expertise for project work scopes related to instrumentation and control systems. This role will involve collaboration with project teams to deliver effective designs and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The engineer will conduct site surveys, produce technical documentation, and manage the resolution of technical queries, ensuring efficient operations in both offshore and onshore environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering input to estimates for project work scopes.
- Collaborate in progress and planning meetings.
- Specify modifications to existing equipment and procure new instruments.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
- Produce calculations and participate in design reviews.
- Approve discipline documents and perform interdisciplinary checks.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies.
- Deliver technical documentation and support for project deliverables.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field.
- Proven experience in instrumentation engineering or a similar role.
- Familiarity with DCS, ESD F&G systems, and field instrumentation.
- Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.
- Experience in producing technical documentation and drawings.
- Ability to conduct site surveys and assess engineering requirements.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in engineering.
