Overview
The Principal Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced network architectures within a high-tech engineering laboratory. This role requires a security-cleared professional who will collaborate with various engineering teams, ensuring the development and performance of robust network solutions for innovative projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop network architectures to support engineering laboratory environments.
- Configure networked systems according to technical specifications provided by the Lead Systems Engineer.
- Maintain and enhance laboratory network infrastructure and development environments.
- Support the deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of networks during site trials and demonstrations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver secure and reliable network solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of network performance, resilience, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Security clearance (SC) is essential.
- Strong understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Model.
- Knowledge of Time Sensitive Networking (TSN).
- Proficient in IPv4 addressing and subnetting.
- Experience in configuring and managing Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs).
- Familiarity with network implementation and deployment practices.
- Experience designing and supporting network architectures.
- Understanding of NETCONF and network automation principles.
