Overview
The Principal Software Engineer will serve as the technical authority within a leading digital product studio, guiding cross-functional teams in the design and architecture of complex digital ecosystems. This role partners with senior stakeholders and technology directors to deliver scalable technology solutions while mentoring engineering squads and overseeing technical strategy across various platforms, including web, mobile, cloud, and AI. With a strong blend of high-level strategy and practical engineering skills, the position requires an individual who can communicate effectively with both technical teams and business executives.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end solution design and technical blueprints for large-scale digital ecosystems.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary engineering teams, addressing complex technical challenges.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, converting business goals into technology roadmaps.
- Direct architectural strategy across frontend applications, mobile, backend microservices, and AI integrations.
- Ensure a balance between rapid deployment and long-term code quality and platform maintainability.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Delivery teams to create a cohesive project environment.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including roles as a Principal Engineer, Solution Architect, or Lead Developer.
- Strong expertise in modern backend stacks, particularly TypeScript/JavaScript (Java or .NET valued).
- Advanced proficiency with AWS and familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Solid understanding of SQL/NoSQL data modeling and event-driven architectures.
- Experience integrating Large Language Models and AI-driven workflows into applications.
- Familiarity with mobile platform rollouts and app store release management.
- Experience with formal information security reviews and build-versus-buy assessments.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and team collaboration.
