Overview
We are looking for a Principal Structural Designer Contractor to join our team for a 6-month assignment, focused on providing technical expertise for structural design in the energy sector. The contractor will collaborate with various stakeholders, conduct site surveys, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while addressing technical queries. This role is suited for professionals experienced in managing structural projects and interfacing with diverse engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new and modified infrastructure.
- Produce structural design drawings and 3D models.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
- Participate in design reviews and meetings with clients and third parties.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies throughout the design process.
- Coordinate structural design resources according to project requirements.
- Check and approve structural drawings and related documentation.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines on technical project issues.
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant discipline-specific software (AutoCAD 2D & 3D, PDMS, LFM Recap, Pro Simulate).
- Experience in brownfield projects within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry, preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong ability to investigate and interpret data.
- Willingness to travel offshore or to sites and ability to conduct site surveys.
- Demonstrated experience in structural design across various engineering industries considered relevant.
