Overview
We are seeking a Product Development Designer to join a leading global entertainment brand, focusing on the creation of innovative consumer products, particularly in the soft toy category. This part-time freelance role offers the opportunity to collaborate with various teams to ensure brand integrity and product excellence, while also staying ahead of industry trends. The position is a three-month contract, with the potential for extension, and requires a designer who can turn storytelling into stunning product designs.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and approve products that reflect the brand’s storytelling.
- Provide creative direction, technical feedback, and design inspiration to partners and licensees.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to maintain brand integrity and drive product excellence.
- Stay ahead of trends, spotting opportunities to keep collections fresh and exciting.
Requirements
- Background in product design and development within toys, plush, or lifestyle goods.
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and confident in 3D and concept design.
- Strong eye for detail, fabric, colour, and form — with hands-on prototyping experience a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrics and stitching techniques (preferred).
- Great communicator and collaborator who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment.
