Overview
As a Product Engineer focusing on backend development, you will collaborate with a skilled engineering team to enhance and expand a sophisticated commercial platform servicing the energy and trading sectors. Responsibilities
- Design and own backend services using Python.
- Build scalable functionalities for billing and pricing platforms.
- Develop APIs and workflows for high-volume data processing.
- Model complex business rules and financial calculations.
- Collaborate with Product teams to devise solutions from first principles.
- Contribute to frontend development tasks using TypeScript when necessary.
- Enhance reliability, scalability, and engineering standards within the platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in commercial software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Python for production-grade applications.
- Experience in building billing, settlement, pricing, or payment platforms.
- Familiarity with the energy sector, utilities, commodity trading, or financial trading.
- Capability in working with data-intensive systems and complex business logic.
- A strong product-focused mindset with significant ownership.

- Experience in startup or scale-up environments is preferred.
