Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced PMO Lead with a strong background in telecommunications to oversee programme governance and portfolio management. In this hybrid role, the contractor will collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive delivery excellence and implement best practices in project governance. The primary focus will be on ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while managing risks and enhancing financial performance across complex programmes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and define programme and project governance frameworks across the organisation.
- Oversee a portfolio of complex programmes, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives.
- Establish and maintain PMO standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Deliver high-quality portfolio reporting, dashboards, and executive insights.
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies across programmes with clear mitigation strategies.
- Drive financial tracking, commercial performance, and benefits realisation.
- Engage with senior stakeholders, facilitating governance forums and decision-making.
- Lead and develop PMO teams, fostering a high-performance delivery culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior PMO or programme leadership role within large, complex organisations.
- Strong background in portfolio governance, reporting, and delivery oversight.
- Experience working in telecoms, networks, or similarly complex environments.
- Expertise in PMO methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, Hybrid delivery models).
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders (including C-suite).
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing financial performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience managing PMO tools such as PPM systems, MS Project Online, or similar.
