Overview

The Project Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in managing and controlling project costs for a large-scale government transformation initiative. Working closely with key stakeholders, the contractor will ensure adherence to HM Treasury Green Book best practices while performing cost estimation, financial management, and budget oversight. This hybrid role involves both remote work and on-site collaboration in Bristol and Andover, making it essential for the contractor to have current SC Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for digital transformation projects.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish realistic budgets and cost parameters.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Create detailed cost reports and prepare cost forecasts for management review.
  • Identify and analyze cost risks and variances, proposing mitigation measures.
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses to evaluate potential financial impacts of project changes.
  • Ensure adherence to defence financial regulations and reporting standards.

Requirements

  • Active SC Security Clearance is required.
  • Experience with HM Treasury Green Book best practices.
  • Strong expertise in cost engineering, project cost control, and financial management.
  • Proficient in cost modelling and estimation using MS Excel.
  • A finance degree or relevant professional certifications (CCP, PMP, AACE) is preferred.
  • Experience in the Defence, MOD, Government, or Aerospace sectors is advantageous.
