Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Design Engineer with strong expertise in CATIA V5 to join a high-performance engineering team in the aerospace sector. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the delivery of innovative engineering projects, contributing to the design and development of complex mechanical systems from concept to production. This contract position offers a collaborative environment, where you will work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality assurance, and other engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CATIA V5.
- Lead design activities across the full product development lifecycle.
- Manage design packages to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, stress analysis, and quality management.
- Support design reviews, technical problem solving, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer.
- Advanced CATIA V5 modelling and drafting skills.
- Experience in the aerospace industry preferred, with automotive, marine, or rail experience considered.
- Track record of delivering complex mechanical design projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes for design.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and understanding of certification or airworthiness requirements.
