Overview
The Project Lead for the Chemicals & Materials R&D Unit will play a vital role in establishing and managing a new facility focused on consulting services for pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing. Working closely with senior stakeholders, engineers, and vendors, the Project Lead will oversee multiple projects in a dynamic environment, driving innovation in production processes and technologies. This position is integral to shaping the operational framework of the unit and enhancing efficiencies in digital manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex, cross-functional projects from concept through implementation.
- Oversee process development, validation, and equipment qualification within production and R&D environments.
- Collaborate with compliance, validation, and operations teams to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate innovative technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure technical alignment across partners.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the R&D unit’s processes.
Requirements
- Degree or higher (MA/PhD) in Engineering, Life Sciences, or IT.
- 10+ years’ experience in biotech, pharma, or chemical manufacturing with a focus on project management.
- Strong understanding of change control, validation, and quality systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead in a matrix environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
