Overview
As a Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of high voltage Transmission and Distribution projects across the UK, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from design through to construction and commissioning, while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders in the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead safe and successful delivery of high voltage Transmission & Distribution projects up to 400kV.
- Manage full project delivery from pre-construction to final handover.
- Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including construction and commercial personnel.
- Build and maintain relationships with National Grid, DNOs, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ requirements and industry standards throughout project lifecycle.
- Chair project progress meetings, updating on timelines and commercial performance.
- Identify and resolve technical, commercial, and programme issues to support successful delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager for Transmission & Distribution projects up to 400kV.
- Experience with National Grid, DNO, ICP or EPC substation and transmission projects.
- Strong understanding of construction, commissioning, and energisation processes for high voltage infrastructures.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts, project budgets, and multidisciplinary team management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proactive approach and ability to manage multiple priorities in complex environments.
- Experience in risk management and change control for major projects.
