Overview
The Project Manager for HV Transmission & Substations will lead high-voltage substation and transmission projects on a 12-month contract basis, managing all phases from inception to completion. The role will involve coordination among engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams while serving as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Manage delivery of high-voltage substation and transmission projects from start to finish.
- Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, and commissioning teams.
- Act as main contact for clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Track programme, costs, risks, and changes.
- Support planning, reporting, and project execution activities.
- Oversee subcontractors and suppliers.
- Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering or similar field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years’ experience in transmission, utilities, or power infrastructure.
- Experience delivering HV substation or EPC projects.
- Strong understanding of UK power networks and substations.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and project delivery.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and site safety requirements.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Competent with Microsoft Office tools.
