Overview
The Project Network Engineer will join a telecoms team to oversee the installation and maintenance of network equipment and documentation. This role involves hands-on work with routers, switches, and firewalls, completing site surveys, and ensuring health and safety measures are met. The position is hybrid, requiring two days a week onsite in Glasgow, and is offered as an initial 6-month contract outside IR35.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain technical documentation for project handovers.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Conduct site surveys to support installation efforts.
- Install and commission rack, charger, and telecoms equipment to high standards.
- Develop Health and Safety documentation such as RAMS and POWRA.
- Monitor and maintain network and system environments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in monitoring and troubleshooting network environments.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking with CCNA-level understanding, including WAN, LAN, and MPLS.
- Hands-on experience with Nokia platforms, specifically Nokia SAR-H and Nokia NFM-P.
- Excellent understanding of routing, switching, and data networking principles.
- Experience with XTran technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Visio for creating network diagrams.
