Overview
The Project Quality Engineer will play a vital role in overseeing quality assurance for major FEED and EPC projects. Collaborating with clients, partners, and suppliers, this position aims to enhance project quality management systems while fostering a quality-driven culture across project teams. The role is adaptable to being either full-time or part-time based on project needs and will require successful completion of a client interview.
Responsibilities
- Direct quality activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Coordinate the establishment of the Quality Plan and Assurance Plan for the project.
- Support the integration of a quality mindset and 'right first time' principles within project teams.
- Manage and conduct proactive audits to assess the effectiveness of the project quality plan.
- Maintain quality reporting and communication with clients regarding assurance activities.
- Represent the projects during quality assurance audits from clients and regulatory bodies.
- Identify quality issues, document action plans, and verify implementation of solutions.
- Promote a quality culture and continuous improvement throughout the project environment.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in petrochemical and related energy industries.
- At least 10 years of experience in heavy industrial or engineering projects.
- Membership in the CQI or equivalent, along with IRCA Registered Lead Auditor status.
- Proven experience in both FEED and EPC project phases.
- Engineering degree from an accredited university or equivalent industry experience.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other related industry codes and standards.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of procurement, design, and installation requirements across various disciplines.
