Overview
We are seeking a skilled Python Engineer to join a leading global commodity trading firm's Risk Technology team. Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Python applications for a new risk platform.
- Collaborate with traders and analysts to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
- Build APIs, data pipelines, and backend services for risk calculation and reporting.
- Contribute to system architecture and establish engineering best practices.
- Write clean and maintainable code in adherence to modern software principles.
- Participate in code reviews and work alongside senior engineers for platform enhancement.
- Optimize application performance for low-latency trading environments.
- Contribute to Agile development processes and continuous integration practices.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of commercial experience developing software in Python.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and data structures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a leading university.
- Experience in developing backend applications, APIs, or distributed systems.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including testing and version control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
- Desirable experience in financial services, risk systems, or cloud technologies like AWS or Azure.
