Overview
We are seeking an experienced Python / Azure Developer to join a major public sector digital programme focused on delivering secure and scalable cloud-based services. You will work on impactful projects within the NHS and government landscape, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in an Agile environment. This role requires prior experience with the NHS or Central Government to ensure proper alignment with project needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop cloud-native applications using Python and Microsoft Azure.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Develop secure, scalable solutions utilizing Azure services, including App Services and Azure SQL.
- Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams in an Agile environment.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, and support code reviews.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience in developing with Python.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Experience in building APIs and microservices.
- Knowledge of Azure Functions, App Services, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Azure SQL.
- CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Bicep.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and modern software engineering practices.
- Previous experience with the NHS or Central Government is essential.
