Overview
We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer with expertise in Playwright and Cypress to lead the automated testing efforts within a large regulated UK organisation's platform. The contractor will collaborate with engineers to incorporate quality checks from the outset, ensuring that broken code does not reach production. The role emphasizes building and maintaining automated test suites while enhancing the overall testing framework in a hybrid working environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and Cypress.
- Integrate tests into continuous integration (CI) pipelines to ensure quality verification on every code change.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to embed testing early in the development process.
- Establish and uphold quality standards across the testing programme.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance test authoring and expand test coverage.
- Conduct accessibility testing where applicable, especially in regulated environments.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience with Playwright and Cypress frameworks.
- Solid proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript programming languages.
- Experience executing automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for identifying issues in software.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools is preferred.
- Experience in accessibility testing and comfort working in regulated environments is a plus.
