Overview
The QA Lead will spearhead the transformation of Quality Assurance processes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), focusing on transitioning the team from manual to automated testing. Working closely with engineering teams, the contractor will implement new QA strategies and tools, ensuring quality is embedded throughout development stages. The role requires management of a small team and hands-on involvement in defining and executing QA practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a QA team, driving the transition to automation.
- Implement new QA processes and tooling within the SDLC.
- Define and execute the QA strategy for mission-critical backend systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to enhance QA practices.
- Upskill team members from manual to automated testing.
- Utilize AI to improve overall testing processes.
- Ensure that QA is integrated throughout the project's development stages.
- Commute to Manchester for on-site requirements, 4 days a month.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading QA teams with direct reports.
- Strong background in implementing QA processes and tools.
- Experience in defining QA strategies in a hands-on capacity.
- Familiarity with mission-critical backend systems, preferably in payments or fintech.
- Experience using AI to enhance testing efficiencies.
- Ability to embed QA practices throughout the SDLC.
- C#/.NET knowledge is a plus but not mandatory.
- Willingness to commute to Manchester 4 days a month.
