Overview
We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer who will play a key role in our AI Engineering team, focusing on developing and validating a high-integrity Core Ledger and Billing Platform. The contractor will oversee automated testing strategies across various components of the system, ensuring not only correctness at launch but also continuous quality assurance as the platform evolves. This role combines technical expertise in automation testing with a collaborative approach, working alongside engineers to define testing strategies and using AI tools to enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
- Own automated test strategy across various testing levels including unit, integration, contract, UI, E2E, and property-based testing.
- Build and validate tests to ensure ledger correctness, focusing on double-entry balance and reconciliation.
- Develop robust UI automation for React applications, preferably using Playwright.
- Create synthetic test data for complex billing scenarios including loans and payments.
- Drive contract testing across services and downstream consumers.
- Build performance and load tests for billing cycles and financial processes.
- Collaborate with engineers during design phases to define effective test strategies.
- Employ AI tools to accelerate test creation, and manage CI quality gates and flaky test triage.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or test engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Extensive backend and API testing experience alongside strong React testing capability.
- Proficiency in SQL and validating data directly within databases.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions.
- Background in high-stakes systems such as fintech or billing platforms.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing for test plans and defect reporting.
