Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Agile delivery team focused on a major central government project within the Government Digital Services framework. The role involves working on the development of modern, cloud-based data platforms and user-facing digital services, ensuring that data is processed accurately and user needs are met. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about data quality and delivering high-quality digital services in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into test scenarios.
- Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts aligned to user stories and acceptance criteria within Jira.
- Validate end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring accurate ingestion, transformation, and delivery of data.
- Perform functional testing across user-facing applications and digital services.
- Support integration testing across APIs, data platforms, and front-end applications.
- Verify data quality, integrity, and usability from both technical and business perspectives.
- Execute risk-based testing focusing on critical datasets, integrations, and business processes.
- Raise, triage, and manage defects with clear reproduction steps and impact assessments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Test Engineer, or Software QA Engineer.
- Strong experience testing data-driven applications and platform-based solutions.
- Good understanding of data pipelines, ingestion, and end-to-end data flow validation.
- Experience working within Azure cloud environments or similar cloud platforms.
- Experience validating REST APIs and integrated services.
- Strong analytical skills to investigate complex technical issues and data anomalies.
- Experience working within Agile software delivery teams.
- Familiarity with version control and CI/CD practices.
