Overview
The Re-Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be responsible for managing end-to-end ceded reinsurance operations, including treaty administration, accounting, settlements, and reporting. This role involves close collaboration with various internal teams such as underwriting, actuarial, finance, and claims, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure efficient operation and compliance with industry standards. The SME will leverage data-driven insights to drive operational improvement and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end ceded reinsurance operations, including treaty administration and reporting activities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, identifying process gaps and driving operational excellence.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and execution of treaty terms while maintaining compliance with regulations.
- Perform financial analysis and data reconciliations for ceded reinsurance portfolios.
- Deliver insights on portfolio performance and financial impacts to support strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counterparts for effective management of reinsurance programmes.
- Enhance reporting capabilities and metrics to improve transparency and performance.
- Participate in projects focused on increasing efficiency and quality in reinsurance processes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in reinsurance operations, with a focus on ceded reinsurance processes.
- Strong knowledge of treaty administration, accounting, and reporting requirements.
- Preferred experience within the London Market insurance environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in handling complex data sets.
- Ability to provide actionable insights from portfolio performance analysis.
- Proven capability in driving process optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
