Overview
We are seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Developer with active SC Clearance to join a dedicated database team on a significant public sector programme. This role involves hands-on PostgreSQL development, focusing on the creation of stored procedures and functions, data transformations, and supporting application updates, all while ensuring high standards of performance and security in database solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop PostgreSQL stored procedures and functions using PL/pgSQL.
- Implement data transformations within PostgreSQL.
- Write, optimise and test SQL code.
- Conduct unit tests on stored procedures and validate expected results.
- Review existing database designs and propose improvements.
- Support application and database changes as necessary.
- Create maintainable, high-performing database solutions with attention to performance and error handling.
Requirements
- Current Active SC Clearance.
- Strong commercial experience in PostgreSQL development.
- Proficient in SQL development.
- Experience writing stored procedures and functions using PL/pgSQL.
- Skilled in implementing data transformations within PostgreSQL.
- Experienced in conducting unit testing of stored procedures.
- Solid understanding of relational database design.
- Familiarity with supporting application and database changes.
