Overview
We are seeking a Storage and Backup Technical Specialist with strong expertise in NetApp to join our team on a contract basis. The specialist will work closely with various technical teams to manage and validate all Compute, Virtualisation, Storage, and Backup activities. The role includes significant hands-on responsibilities, particularly in secure and defence environments, and requires current SC clearance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and manage NetApp SAN and Filers, including upgrades and replacements.
- Assess and remediate storage and backup obsolescence.
- Execute and coordinate Ransomware Wave 1 and Wave 2 technical activities.
- Manage and fulfil infrastructure requests, including IPs, DNS, Firewall, and VLANs.
- Supervise and coordinate vendor activities and technical inputs from the Build Factory.
- Contribute to and produce business requirement documents (BRDs) and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Must hold current SC clearance.
- Extensive experience with NetApp systems, including storage replication.
- Proficient in Veeam and NetBackup for backup solutions.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems such as RHEL, Rocky, CentOS, and Windows Server.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible and PowerShell.
- High level of expertise in infrastructure engineering within secure and defence environments.
