Overview
We are seeking a Technical Product Manager / Product Owner for a major multi-year government platform upgrade. The successful contractor will collaborate with an agile squad, leveraging hands-on experience with Google Cloud while driving the vision and priorities of the product backlog. This role demands strong people management skills and the ability to translate business needs into actionable user stories and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Define and support the product vision for the squad and area of responsibility.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the highest value work aligned to programme priorities.
- Lead requirements workshops to translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Break down outcomes into clear, deliverable technical tasks for engineering teams.
- Act as the voice of the customer, gathering feedback to ensure solutions meet user needs.
- Support sprint planning and backlog refinement, prioritising work based on value and feasibility.
- Drive continuous improvement by refining the backlog and adapting to feedback and delivery changes.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across product, engineering, and programme teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering cloud-native solutions, specifically within Google Cloud environments.
- Strong people management skills with a track record of guiding technical squads and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience navigating complex, regulated UK Government or secure environments.
- Deep experience with backlog ownership, user story writing, and scaled Agile frameworks.
- Active SC Clearance and willingness to undergo DV Clearance.
