Overview
We are seeking a Security Architect to join a team focused on enhancing network security for a telecoms operator in compliance with the Telecommunications Security Act. In this remote role, the contractor will collaborate with network engineering and risk compliance teams to implement security measures and standards across critical telecom systems. The position emphasizes security by design and involves developing security architecture frameworks that align with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design security architectures for telecoms networks in compliance with the Telecommunications Security Act and NCSC guidelines.
- Conduct risk assessments across core network, RAN, and management plane systems to identify compliance gaps.
- Produce comprehensive security architecture documentation, including standards and designs for network segmentation and access control.
- Review and validate vendor and supply chain security controls against TSA requirements.
- Support remediation planning and track the implementation of security controls across network domains.
- Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to demonstrate compliance and discuss residual risks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Architect within telecoms or critical national infrastructure contexts.
- In-depth knowledge of the Telecommunications Security Act and associated NCSC guidance.
- Strong understanding of key network security principles, including segmentation, identity and access management.
- Experience in producing security architecture documentation such as high-level designs and risk assessments.
- Familiarity with telecom network architecture, including core, transport, and RAN systems.
- Experience with TOGAF or SABSA architecture frameworks is desirable.
- Exposure to 5G security architecture and relevant standards is a plus.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCP are preferred.
