Overview

This role involves serving as a Security Consultant and Subject Matter Expert in a high-assurance environment, specifically working on-site with a key Defence partner. The contractor will collaborate closely with MOD stakeholders to provide comprehensive security assurance across various systems, applications, and infrastructure, ensuring that all security measures are rigorously applied and documented.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the on-site security authority alongside MOD.
  • Provide full security assurance and formal sign-off.
  • Review security architecture and technical designs.
  • Oversee SIEM, monitoring, and forensic readiness.
  • Lead and assess penetration testing and vulnerability work.
  • Approve secure code reviews and release changes.
  • Assess software suppliers and product risks.
  • Produce clear, auditable security documentation.

Requirements

  • Must hold DV clearance plus additional clearances.
  • Proven experience in security assurance within a Defence environment.
  • Strong knowledge of security architecture and technical design reviews.
  • Experience with SIEM monitoring, forensic readiness, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and secure software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to produce detailed security documentation and provide evidence-based guidance.
  • Understanding of risk assessment related to software suppliers and products.
