Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially focused Senior Accountant to join a dynamic finance team on a contract basis. This hybrid role will involve shaping financial strategy and driving compliance while supporting decision-making processes across the business. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring accurate reporting and continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, management accounts, and variance analyses.
- Oversee reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments with precision.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing data-driven insights.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and cross-functional teams.
- Drive process improvements and contribute to finance system upgrades.
Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, NetSuite).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
