Overview
The Senior Authorised Person will oversee high voltage operations on various projects in North Yorkshire and the North East, ensuring compliance with DNO safety rules and regulations. This role involves taking full responsibility for SAP functions, including HV switching, isolations, and safety management. The contractor will collaborate with project teams and safety personnel to facilitate smooth and safe operations throughout the contract duration.
Responsibilities
- Manage full SAP responsibilities including HV switching and isolations.
- Ensure compliance with DNO safety rules and regulations.
- Conduct reviews and approvals of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Develop and oversee switching programmes and energisation plans.
- Issue and manage Permits to Work and Sanctions for Test Safety.
- Provide expert guidance and support related to electrical safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with project teams to uphold safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Senior Authorised Person.
- Proven experience with DNO safety rules, preferably with Northern Powergrid.
- At least 33 kV SAP authorisation with recognised HV switching competency.
- Experience with full SAP duties beyond switching.
- Strong knowledge of UK HV Safety Rules and procedures.
- Ability to review and approve RAMS and other safety documents.
- Experience in managing safety within high voltage contexts.
