Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified 400kV Senior Authorised Person to support a major EPC contractor on one of the UK’s largest HVDC infrastructure projects. The incumbent will play a critical role in managing high voltage safety documentation and supporting installation and commissioning activities, working closely with construction and engineering teams to ensure operational compliance and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Act as the 400kV Senior Authorised Person for site operations.
- Manage High Voltage safety documentation, permits, and switching activities.
- Support the installation and future commissioning of HV infrastructure.
- Ensure all works comply with National Grid Safety Rules and site procedures.
- Review contractor documentation and ensure readiness for authorisation.
- Collaborate with construction, engineering, and project management teams.
- Provide technical guidance on HV safety and operational compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Current or recent 400kV Senior Authorised Person authorisation.
- Strong knowledge of National Grid Safety Rules.
- Experience working on transmission, substation, or HVDC projects.
- Comfortable working within large EPC or principal contractor environments.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and maintain high safety standards.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
