Overview
The Senior Authorised Person will play a critical role in supporting safety and operational standards within the UK transmission sector. This position involves preparing safety documentation, mentoring team members, and ensuring all high voltage (HV) operations are conducted safely. The contractor will collaborate with various teams to enhance isolation procedures and provide support across multiple sites during a 12-month engagement.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, issue, and cancel safety documents and permits.
- Undertake duties as Senior Authorised Person.
- Act as Control Person for HV operations.
- Write, review, and approve RAMS.
- Ensure staff and contractors work safely on-site.
- Train and mentor new team members.
- Support a planned out of hours on-call rota.
- Assist in developing and improving operational standards.
Requirements
- Hold current or recent 400kV Senior Authorised Person authorisation.
- Demonstrate strong operational experience within the UK transmission network.
- Possess excellent knowledge of HV safety rules and switching procedures.
- Have experience in reviewing and approving RAMS.
- Exhibit a proactive approach to leadership and safety standards.
