Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join as a contractor for a focused 3-month project aimed at enhancing our continuous deployment practices. In this independent role, you will work autonomously to consolidate multiple existing automated testing frameworks into a single, efficient Playwright suite, utilizing advanced AI tools to optimize test migration and execution. This position allows for complete remote work within the UK, focusing on delivering high-impact results with confidence in system capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate fragmented automated testing frameworks into a unified Playwright suite in TypeScript.
- Deliver high-value browser and API integration tests for core transaction workflows.
- Establish reusable architectural conventions and maintenance patterns for ongoing use by the permanent team.
- Leverage generative AI tools to improve efficiency in test migration and execution.
- Analyze and stabilize flaky tests, ensuring the CI/CD pipeline maintains a high level of quality.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in Playwright and TypeScript for building testing suites from scratch.
- Experience with testing in highly regulated or high-stakes environments like fintech or insurtech.
- Proficient in utilizing generative AI technologies for enhancing automation workflows.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Ability to transition legacy frameworks to Playwright is beneficial.
