Overview
We are looking for a Senior AWS Engineer to join our Professional Services team on a 6-month contract, focusing on a major AWS migration and separation programme. The successful candidate will work closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and technical stakeholders to build, migrate, and deploy AWS infrastructure and application services, playing a hands-on role in the delivery process. This fully remote position is ideal for those who thrive in customer-facing environments and have strong cloud engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support the build and migration activities to separate existing applications and infrastructure into a new AWS environment.
- Collaborate with delivery teams to implement landing zone solutions and perform networking build activities.
- Oversee server migration and application platform deployment using Infrastructure as Code strategies.
- Engage directly with customers to facilitate AWS migration and transformation initiatives.
- Participate in live migration cutovers within production environments.
- Assist with planned out-of-hours migration activities as required.
- Utilize AWS Application Migration Service and other migration tooling effectively.
- Provision AWS infrastructure through CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in delivering AWS infrastructure solutions in a consultancy environment.
- Proven track record of engaging with external customers for AWS migration projects.
- Hands-on expertise in enterprise AWS migration delivery and structured migration wave support.
- Experience with AWS landing zones and multi-account environments.
- Solid understanding of AWS networking solutions for hybrid environments.
- Familiarity with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) or comparable migration tools.
- Experience in using Infrastructure as Code frameworks, such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Ability to assist with structured delivery teams aligned to Statement of Work (SOW) engagements.
