Overview
We are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer for a contract position focused on a major cloud transformation program. The successful candidate will take ownership of Infrastructure as Code delivery, lead the implementation of a modern Azure landing zone, and collaborate closely with engineering and security teams. This hands-on role requires leading technical design and driving the technical direction within a cloud-native environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Build and implement a secure Azure Landing Zone.
- Design and deploy Azure networking including hub-and-spoke architecture, NSGs, routing, private DNS, Key Vault and Entra ID/RBAC.
- Define and maintain Terraform module and repository standards.
- Drive technical discussions, low-level design (LLD) and infrastructure best practices.
- Prioritise technical backlogs and work closely with engineering teams to deliver key milestones.
- Build Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop multi-tenant Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer.
- Strong Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience.
- Expert knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience designing Azure Landing Zones.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, including hub-and-spoke networking and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) experience.
- CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Git version control and repository management.
