Overview
We are looking for a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join a major cloud transformation programme on a contract basis. This role involves taking ownership of Infrastructure as Code delivery and implementing a modern Azure landing zone, working closely with engineering and security teams to deliver a scalable, secure platform. The contractor will primarily focus on leading technical design and infrastructure delivery while collaborating with senior stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Build and implement a secure Azure Landing Zone.
- Design and deploy Azure networking including hub-and-spoke architecture, NSGs, routing, private DNS, Key Vault and Entra ID/RBAC.
- Define and maintain Terraform module and repository standards.
- Drive technical discussions, low-level design (LLD) and infrastructure best practices.
- Build Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop multi-tenant Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
- Produce architecture decision records (ADRs) and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Extensive commercial experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer.
- Strong Microsoft Azure infrastructure experience.
- Expert knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience designing Azure Landing Zones.
- Strong understanding of Azure networking, including hub-and-spoke networking and Network Security Groups (NSGs).
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) experience and CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of cloud security and infrastructure architecture.
- Experience with Git version control and repository management.
