Overview
The Senior Data Architect will play a pivotal role in driving the technical strategy for large-scale migrations from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms. This contract position involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including security, data governance, and technical teams, to develop and implement cloud-native architectures focusing on both AWS and Azure ecosystems. The role is designed for senior professionals who are well-versed in modern data paradigms and can effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of data architectures for migration projects to cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business needs.
- Utilise AWS and Azure services to create efficient, scalable data solutions.
- Apply modern data paradigms such as Data Lakes and Lakehouse architectures in project implementations.
- Conduct stakeholder engagements to clarify project objectives and technical requirements.
- Evaluate and integrate cloud security practices and data governance standards into solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing strategic data architectures for cloud environments.
- Extensive knowledge of AWS and Azure data services, including Redshift, Databricks, and Synapse.
- Strong understanding of modern data frameworks like Data Lakes, Data Mesh, and Data Fabric.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in collaborating with Security and Data Governance teams.
- Fluency in coding and collaboration with Data Engineers and Developers.
- Comprehensive understanding of data governance and security standards.
