Overview
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join a fast-growing ecommerce business and play a vital role in managing the full data engineering lifecycle on the Google Cloud Platform. You will work closely with commercial and BI teams to deliver insights by designing and optimizing data pipelines and creating robust cloud-native data architectures. This position is ideal for those experienced in leveraging GCP tools and fostering collaboration across data-driven environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data pipelines within the GCP ecosystem.
- Ensure data ingestion and transformation processes are optimized for performance.
- Develop and manage semantic models in Looker to facilitate reporting and analytics.
- Collaborate with commercial and BI teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Implement robust cloud-native data architectures that meet business needs.
- Monitor and tune performance of BigQuery queries and data models.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver data solutions quickly and effectively.
Requirements
- Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem and tools.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery, including optimization and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of Looker and development of semantic layers.
- Experience in building scalable data pipelines in cloud environments.
- Ability to design and implement robust cloud-native data architectures.
- Experience in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
- Familiarity with retail or ecommerce data is highly desirable.
