Overview
This role offers two contract opportunities for Senior Data Engineers within a leading global insurance organization, focusing on a greenfield data transformation program. The successful candidates will join a fully remote team (UK only) and work collaboratively with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to enhance a modern Enterprise Data Platform while mentoring junior engineers and driving engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data pipelines to support enterprise data initiatives.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Develop and maintain data models and ETL processes at scale.
- Mentor team members and share best practices in data engineering.
- Manage stakeholder communications and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Evaluate and integrate new data technologies into the existing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Data Warehousing and cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong proficiency with GCP Cloud Data Platform and Azure technologies.
- Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, and SSIS.
- Knowledge of Azure Synapse and Azure Data Factory.
- Expertise in ETL development and data modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead technical discussions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in the insurance industry and familiarity with Agile delivery is a plus.
