Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join a public sector organization for an initial 6-month contract, focusing on enhancing customer-facing products and supporting development practices that prioritize sustainability and maintainability. The position offers a hybrid working model, requiring collaboration both remotely and in-office, while engaging with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions and mentor colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Enhance customer-facing product portfolio based on user feedback.
- Develop and support products aligned with architectural roadmaps.
- Demonstrate sustainable and collaborative software development practices.
- Participate in team events and lead in areas requiring specialist knowledge.
- Engage with wider communities to share knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain high code quality through unit testing and code analysis.
- Ensure compliance with non-functional requirements, including security and performance.
- Troubleshoot development issues across various environments and platforms.
Requirements
- Significant experience with Java 11+, Python 3, and Spring Boot.
- Proficient in JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, and HTML/CSS.
- Experience with OpenShift and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD.
- Demonstrated ability in relational and NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
- Experience in delivering software collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with human-centred design practices and service/event-based architectures.
- Proficient with unit testing and test automation frameworks.
- Experience working within Agile delivery models and defining infrastructure as code.
